Can you really do something about that?

Yes, we can. We have already had a great deal of success in having links to illegal electronic copies of John Norman's books removed from various sites.

We make every effort to contact the owner of the site and ask them to remove the links voluntarily, explaining that we have been authorized by John Norman's agent to enforce his copyrights. We also explain that what they are doing is illegal and why it is important not to distribute electronic copies of the books.

For the most part, people that have been supplying links to illegal copies of the books are simply unaware that what they are doing is illegal or that it has a detrimental effect on the future of the Gor series. Once they understand this they are usually happy to remove the links.

In the rare cases where we are unable to contact the site owner, or the site owner will not remove the links after several requests, we will contact the service provider for the web site with the details of the copyright infringement and ask that the offending page(s) be removed. Unfortunately, the service provider will often delete the entire contents of the offending site.

So, we urge sites that offer illegal copies of the Gor books for download, distribution by email, or for reading online to please remove links, advertisements, or copyrighted content as we have no wish for them to lose their sites.
